GP Earnings
NHS England has requested all General Practices to publish their GP partners and salaried GP’s net earnings from 2017/18. The method to of calculating earning is theoretically misleading as the figure published does not take in account the hours worked and should not be used to form any judgment nor comparisons on GP’s salaries. The aim of NHS England is to increase transparency. GP’s will have to publish mean earning by April 2018 under the new GP contract deal.
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. The average pay for GPs working in Ravensbury Park Medical Centre in the last financial year was £57,120.41 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 2 full-time GPs and 3 part-time GPs who worked in the practice for more than 6 months.
